NEW COMMUNITY GROUP ESTABLISHED TO HELP CROMWELL BUSINESS OWNERS AND TOWN RESIDENTS IMPROVE WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS
Goals of New Coalition Include Working With Town Officials On Zoning Issues, Economic Development Commission on Expansion & Middlesex Chamber of Commerce on Economic Support

/Connecticut News Articles/ - (Cromwell, CT) – It was announced today that a group of community business executives and residents have formed a new citizen-based economic and political group in Cromwell called the “Cromwell Coalition For Progress” (cromwellcfp.tripod.com). The overall purpose of the group is to work closely with political, business and community leaders on a new agenda for Cromwell that includes strengthening economic development and residential growth in the town.

“Thanks to the recent election I believe more people these days are becoming politically active and aware about the overall political process in their towns and around the state. A number of business executives and community leaders that I’ve met over the past year have expressed some concern with the limited progress that has been occurring in our town. Our group hopes to speed along the political and economic process so we can see positive change,” explained Patrick Snow, member of the new Cromwell Coalition For Progress and president of Premier Building & Development, Inc.

“Our goal is to make sure that Cromwell is known as one of Connecticut’s best towns! We want to make sure that our town officials are responsive to our needs and are listening to the problems and solutions we offer. We want to make sure that our children have a decent future that includes great neighborhoods for growing-up, a valuable education and a strong business community to support continued expansion. I look forward to hearing from other concerned citizens in the town and would like to encourage them to join the coalition as well!” said Neil Scarfo, member of the coalition and owner of Century 21 Neil Realty, Inc.

Some of the initial concerns that the Cromwell Coalition For Progress will tackle include various issues pending with the Town of Cromwell’s Economic Development Commission and also the Planning & Zoning Commission. “We’re going to take on some easy issues and some hard issues. Regardless, we’re out to improve our town and make sure, no matter what, our officials are listening and are responsive to the needs of the community,” concluded Enzo Faienza, coalition member and head of Universal Tile, Inc.
