The uplifting music movement that arrived in Connecticut in 2003, Upliftment Records, the independent record label located in Bridgeport, has just launched its first major album release for one of its premiere recording artists, PRE$$URE.
/Connecticut News Articles/ - FAIRFIELD, CT, July 30, 2006 - The uplifting music movement that arrived in Connecticut in 2003, Upliftment Records, the independent record label located in Bridgeport, has just launched its first major album release for one of its premiere recording artists, PRE$$URE.
After two years of distributing singles and collaboration songs featuring its signed artists, Upliftment has amassed a huge following for the music of its artists and overall positive messages that are infused into all elements of the company's management philosophy as well as the music emanating from the label.
The company's first CD, Destined For Greatness, comes from rapper PRE$$URE. The CD features the singles Go Head, a current hit in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean is just making is way to the U.S. market, and ABC Love, a song that guests fellow labelmate and smooth soul vocalist, T.C., to hook the chorus. Various studios were used throughout the tri-state area to records Destined For Greatness as Upliftment Records was very careful in choosing the proper atmosphere and equipment to produce the best quality for the album tracks. The mastering of the album was performed by Sony Music in New York.
Leonard Mitchell, president and co-founder of Upliftment, said, "PRE$$URE's album is very representative of the entire Upliftment Records' philosophy. It is very high quality production with a positive, clean, uplifting musical experience for the listener."
The label is backing PRE$$URE with a national marketing campaign, publicity blitz, promotions for the album, and plans for a tour. Mitchell added. "We've hired entertainment press agents, Walsh PR to distribute the album information and handle the marketing materials, while acting as publicists for the label and three of the artists on the label."
As Destined For Greatness hits stores in September, singles from the album will start to be released this month. Upliftment will be riding the publicity to seek new artists, establish relationships with other labels, corporate sponsors, non-profit affiliations, and form new educational programs, which will all be supported by appearances and shows from the respective artists involved.
Currently, a six-song E.P. of Destined For Greatness is available nationwide through various online retailers, including CD Baby and Tower Records.com, and singles from the album are also available for purchase at music websites.
