Front Row Top Budget Kitchen Featured in National Home Magazine
"Three Kitchens, Three Budgets," the cover story in the current issue of This Old House Magazine, chose a kitchen designed by Matt Giardina of Norwalk-based Front Row Kitchens, as its "Custom Design, Top of the Line" dream room.
/Connecticut News Articles/ - NORWALK, CT, August 12, 2007 - "Three Kitchens, Three Budgets," the cover story in the current issue of This Old House Magazine, chose a kitchen designed by Matt Giardina of Norwalk-based Front Row Kitchens, as its "Custom Design, Top of the Line" dream room.
According to the article, the kitchen was its top choice among the rooms in the highest budget category because of its "Made-to-measure cabinets, pro-style appliances, and plenty of personal touches (that) make this handsome kitchen a comfortable place for hanging out 24/7."
The latest honor for Front Row adds to its reputation for creating custom kitchens that are suited to the overall home style and owner's budget, while providing the optimal configuration for the room to be a hub of the home for the family. According to the article, "It may be the ultimate dream kitchen, but what makes it work is its down-to-earth approach: There is a place for everything - and everyone - in this New Canaan, Connecticut, home's friendly high functioning command center."
"It is always a tremendous compliment when your work is recognized," Giardina, president of Front Row and lead architectural designer for the acclaimed kitchen, explained. "The kitchen design featured is a very high end, new construction. We were very excited to work with Rich Rosano of R.R. Builders, who is managed the construction of the entire house."
The big budget kitchen shows off Front Row's ability for state-of-the-art kitchen design grandeur. Giardina explained. "At Front Row, we handle kitchen styles and designs of all shapes, sizes, and budgets. We work with our customers and offer numerous alternatives whether they are building a new house, redesigning, renovating, or updating,"
Several unique features of the "ultimate kitchen" from Front Row focus on a flowing floor plan that seems to be a staple of Front Row designs. Giardina took advantage of the room's 10-foot ceilings and the magazine was complimentary of Front Row's stacking design of the cabinets. Specifically, the additional row of flip-up glass-front narrow cases that pile up to the crown molding, the two island set-up, and "a timeless look with long-lasting materials to match," were cited. The kitchen's "Top of the Line" budget of $100,000+ features a 60-inch Wolf range, and Sub-Zero brand twin 36-inch refrigerators, four freezer drawers, and a wine cooler. A Miele brand warming drawer and built-in coffee station that shares a direct water line with the refrigerator, a mini microwave, and glass front spice cabinet that puts some jars on display and keeps the rest on shelves behind the scenes.
It is not the first time Giardina and Front Row have been nationally recognized for its kitchen designs. In 2006, Front Row was chosen by the editors of Better Homes & Gardens to be featured in its special interest issue, 50 Dream Kitchens. The company was the winner of the 2001 and 2003 National Kitchen Design Contest sponsored by Bon Appetit Magazine and Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry, which is also the brand used in the .This Old House feature. The 2003 winning kitchen was featured on the cover of This Old House and in Better Homes & Gardens: Kitchen & Bath Ideas Magazine.
