12th Annual Native American Festival -- September 12 & 13 in Ridgefield, CT
Native American Festival to offer traditional music, dance, food, art and children's activities.
/Connecticut News Articles/ - Ridgefield, CT, September 05, 2008 - The 12th Annual Native American Festival will be at Ridgefield's Ballard Park the weekend of September 13 & 14, from 10am until 6pm, rain or shine. This educational, cultural, family event will feature entertainment by Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Joanne Shenandoah and performances featuring Iroquois & pow wow style dancing, among other attractions. Check out the children's activities in the teepee village, where a teepee-raising demonstration will be held once each day. Try some traditional Native American foods like corn soup, fry bread, buffalo burgers, venison and chili. Vendors will offer a variety of items, including paintings; traditional and contemporary silver jewelry; deerskin clothing; and stone, bone and clay sculptures. Artists will give demonstrations throughout the day, and fine art will be on exhibit and available for purchase. Admission: $10.00 adults, $5.00 seniors & children.
