HADDAM, CT, October 23, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Several Simpson Healthcare employees, along with their children participated in a beach clean up in Haddam, Connecticut. The beach clean up is part of the "Clean Up Your Act: Watershed Cleanup" program created by Save the Sound, a program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment. The Clean Up Your Act program was initiated due to the on-going need for cleanups of litter along the coastal and inland shores of Long Island Sound and its watershed.
Participating from Simpson Healthcare were Melanie Walton, Kim Mills, Neil Malloy, Denise Bury, Mary Karkutt-Kulak, and David Joslin; who brought their kids along for the fun. Save the Sound hosts cleanups throughout the year in order to improve the condition of our shorelines, inspire stewardship in local communities, and gather data about the sources of marine debris. Data recorded by cleanup volunteers is used to educate the public and find solutions to stopping litter at its source.
