Connecticut companies and employees recognized for excellence at Better Business Bureau 81st annual awards banquet
Simsbury High School senior receives $2,500 scholarship for student ethics award

WALLINGFORD, CT, November 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sunporch Structures of Westport is the recipient of Connecticut Better Business Bureau's most prestigious award, the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, presented at BBB's 81st annual meeting and awards banquet, Thursday evening, October 29, 2009.

The BBB Torch Award criteria embody high ethical standards of marketplace behavior, demonstration of ethical buyer/seller relationships; a longstanding history of ethical practices in the marketplace and business practices that reflect a true representation of the nominees' products or services.

Connecticut Better Business Bureau President, Paulette Scarpetti, says award winners are a model of dedication to marketplace excellence.

"By definition, BBB Accredited Businesses exemplify excellent customer service, honesty and integrity, all of which are the foundation of a marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other, which describes the vision of Better Business Bureau."

The Connecticut Better Business Bureau Student Ethics Award went to Simsbury High School senior Sarah Rogers, who received a $2,500 scholarship for an accredited college or university of her choice. This award recognizes a student who personifies high ethical standards through leadership, community service, overall academic history and personal integrity.

Newington-based Simply Additions won the Website Marketing Message Award in the 1-9 employees category, and Roccie's Asphalt & Landscaping Co., of Stamford the 10-99 employees category.

The 2009 recipient of the Business/Consumer Education Award was B.C. Group-QuoteWright.com of East Hartford.

Employees from five companies received the 2009 Connecticut Better Business Employee Superior Service Award: Nancy Miller of Churchill Classics in Monroe, Violette LeBron of Newington-based Simply Additions, Joe Pascarella of Basement Systems in Seymour, Melissa Kasperzyk of Lucinda's Hair in Cheshire and John Albero of Stamford-based Air Solutions, Inc.

Connecticut Better Business Bureau congratulates all of this year's award winners.
